Chiquita... STAY AWAY FROM THE SNAKE!!!

I was mortified when I saw this story on CNN...  Apparently, a family had both a python and a terrier/chihuahua dog - basically, a "chiquita."  Anyway, the python started to stalk the dog for a few days and lo and behold, finally suffocated it and started to swallow it.  It was only then that the family decided to call a snake expert, but of course, it was too late.  By the time the snake expert was able to arrive, the snake had swallowed the dog down to his hind legs.  His hind legs!!!!  To make matters worse, the kids in the family, a 5 and 7 year old, watched!  

I don't know about you, but once the snake starts eyeing my dog... he's out!  It's not like mice, which you purchase strictly to feed the snakes, it's a pet!  I know I'm very attached to my Chiquita (and Scrappy), but you would think that if you'd had a pet for 5 years or so, you would care if the snake started to eat it.
