I'm still in lab...
I guess I failed to mention that since I don't have to work on my ORP anymore, I actually get to run experiments now. I got a fellowship this year, through NDeRC (Notre Dame extended Research Community). In essence, they want to promote science in grades K-12. As part of this, I was entrusted with the "education" of a high school student. I've been working with someone from a local private high school, teaching her my research - very scary - and helping her do a project using my instrument for the science fair. It's crunch time, since her science fair is in less than a month. We'd been using a portable version of my instrument - nice, but I like mine so much more - and had been struggling to get decent results, so I had the bright idea to use my instrument. Besides, I'm eventually going to do be doing these experiments anyway... Well, needless to say, we've finally gotten good results, but since I have a "good tip," I can't really leave, even if my high school student had too. Anyway, I'm still in lab, scanning, and actually enjoying it. I've felt like such a slacker (that was for you Carly) lately and it's nice to know that I'm getting results and doing SOMETHING. :)
