The Plague!

Ok, it's official. I'm sick. I have the coughing, sneezing, achy, congested, I just want to sleep for weeks, whatever it is that is going around. I've been trying to survive on Dayquil and it's just not doing it's job. I went to Walgreen's, plopped 4-5 different medications on the counter and asked the pharmacist straight-out what he thought I should take. He recommended the Walgreen's version of Mucinex, which is an expectorant - basically, I won't be congested anymore. Fortunately, it also contains a cough suppressant. That's it. Oh wait, he said I should take a Tylenol. That's it? Is that enough? I sure hope so! I have way too many things to do these days between lab stuff, write a paper, work on my candidacy, work with my undergrad, and processing data for the paper I'm trying to write. Unfortunately, I hear that this stuff is hitting everywhere. I'm sure the fact that whoever chose the 3 strains of flu for the flu shot got it wrong on 2. THEY should be shot! Ok, not really, but come ON! How exactly do they choose the 3 strains. I almost picture one of those Bingo ball things... you know what I mean, they turn the handle and it spins and then it stops and they take out a ball and say, "Oh, the first strain will be ______!" And so on, and so forth. How is it that every year I hear that they once again chose wrong? I've always tried to get the flu shot, especially when I've been here in Indiana, but is it really worth it? Anybody got a good cure for the plague? I'd be willing to pay big bucks... honest!

My personal choice: Advil Cold & Sinus (the kind you have to get behind the counter). Clears you up and keeps you going - that is one serious stimulant!

I never take cough suppressants unless I'm coughing at night. Otherwise, how can you clear out all the gunk?

Complaining about the flu shot? OMG. It was free. Whiner :P
